The Archivio

The Archivio Aldo Mondino was established in January 2006.
Situated at Via Giannone 6, Milan, the Archivio carries out research on the life and works of the Turin-born artist, with the aim of safeguarding and promoting the fruits of Aldo Mondino’s intense artistic activity.
To pursue this aim the Archivio Aldo Mondino collects all information on the artist’s work suitable to be used for the compilation of a Catalogue Raisonné.
The purpose of the Archivio Aldo Mondino, in fact, is to comprehensively document the artist’s entire output through the acquisition of all information and documentary material on the author's works and his biography.
We appeal to galleries and collectors, therefore, trusting in their generosity and cooperation, to send us all documentation relating to the works of art in their possession by filling out the PDF archive card.

Authentications and updates on works

The Archivio issues authentication of an art work after examining the documentary material or original materials.
To request the examination of an art work, collectors must send in the requested documents by filling out the archive card.
The Archivio Aldo Mondino reserves the right to request that the works be examined on its own premises.
Bronze sculptures must be examined by the foundry.

Photographic materials
Each card must be complete with the relative photographs, which will remain the property of the Archivio Aldo Mondino.
Photographic material may be sent by e-mail (preferably via WeTransfer or similar systems) or, alternatively, mailed to: Archivio Aldo Mondino, via Giannone 6, 20154 Milan.
To ensure the greatest accuracy possible in the archiving of the works and their prospective publication in the General Catalogue, we ask you to send us the following materials with the relative technical specifications:
- photos of the front and the back of the work and any distinguishing details useful for its identification;
- photos must be in TIF format, 30 cm x 40 cm, with a resolution  of 300 dpi;
- each image must reproduce the work in its entirety, without blurring, distortion or cropping, so as to ensure the most accurate analysis of the work and identification of the materials used;
- when photographing the work, where possible a photographic colour scale should be included to allow the closest possible correspondence between the subject and its reproduction.

Cost of appraisal
In the event of the attribution of the work of art, the cost of the appraisal complete with the issuing of a certificate of authentication by the Scientific Committee is € 244.00 (including VAT) for each work. Payment will be communicated on request.

Certificate of authentication
The authentication of the work of art is composed of two inseparable parts. No work can be considered authenticated by the Archivio Aldo Mondino if it is not accompanied by both the following documents:
Document no. 1. Statement of authenticity of the work including small photographs, details of the work and the inventory number. The document must bear the embossed stamp of the Archivio Aldo Mondino and the signature of the Sole Director, Antonio Mondino.
Document no. 2. Photographs of the work in A4 size on photo paper. On the back of the document there must be the embossed stamp of the Archivio Aldo Mondino and an ink stamp with the inventory number. The back of the document must also carry a label with all the information regarding the work (title, date, measurements, technique).
The document must be signed by the Sole Director, Antonio Mondino.
