The RiccardoCrespi Gallery, in collaboration with the Aldo Mondino Archive, presents *Raccolto in Preghiera*, a solo exhibition by the Italian artist Aldo Mondino.
On display is a series of works spanning from the 1960s to the 2000s, covering the full range of the artist’s output: from drawing and painting to installation and jewellery.
His work, which emerged from the research of the 1960s linked to European conceptual experimentation, soon rediscovered a strong, albeit highly personal, relationship with painting and a fascination for cultures and worlds that seemed distant, without ever losing the surrealist flavour absorbed during his time in Paris, nor the subtle irony and eclecticism found in every work.
The gallery’s central hall will showcase some of the artist’s best-known works, generally known by the name Turcata, alongside a selection of jewellery pieces.
On the gallery’s lower level, a large floor installation will be created: the work Mekka Mokka, a coffee-bean carpet, based on a design by Mondino from 1988.
On the walls, in the same oriental-inspired vein, are the glass enamels from the Iznik series and one of the first paintings on linoleum, Charmeur.
Raccolto in Preghiera, the work from which the exhibition takes its title, will be presented at Palazzo Serbelloni during BOOKCITY MILANO.
