On Sunday 4 May, a solo exhibition dedicated to the artist opened at the Galleria Giuseppe Pero in Milan. The exhibition "Aldo Mondino Scultore" presents a rich selection of Aldo Mondino’s work.
Among the most authentic indicators of forms of intelligence are a keen eye for detail and irony, both subtle qualities not within everyone’s reach. Aldo Mondino, a highly perceptive artist, brings them together and presents them masterfully through his artistic language, and in particular through his sculptures. Allegorical, metaphorical, irreverent or simply witty, through their forms and especially thanks to their pairing with their respective titles, they speak of the artist’s profound culture, his roots, but above all of his intense experiences in contact with other cultural and artistic realities. Always open to experimentation and to combinations – even unlikely ones – of materials, Aldo Mondino plays extensively with the symbols that every object carries with it as a largely social legacy: hair, cases, easels, nougat, walls… An unimaginable cosmos of grand ideas and ingenious creations, meticulously crafted down to the smallest detail for their visual and intellectual impact.
